Santiago, Chile. Building known as "Casa colorada" (red house), Merced 860. It is the better preserved building of the colonial age as it played a role in the history of the Country. It was the residence of the President of the first revolutionary government (Mateo de Toro y Zambrano) and also hosted the Scottish admiral Lord Thomas Cochrane, who fought with the Chilean during the independence war against Spain. It now hosts the Museo de Santiago, a museum on the history of the city.
