The Scarlet or Scarlet-breasted Parrot 'Neophema pulchella' is a small to medium sized grass parrot native to South-east Australia. They are usually bright green with a bright 'scarlet breast', with yellow and blue wing markings. The all-blue variety is a mutation will lovely soft sky blue and royal blue markings with a white belly. They feed mainly on grass seeds on the ground. They have a swift flight and are quite noticable when taking off or landing as their tail fans displaying more of its bright markings
