Matthew Kiln watches the Sexton 25 pounder, Self Propelled Gun lowered into into place in Ver-Sur Mer, France. Mr Kiln, 46, the son of a D-day veteran, took the Sextant self-propelled gun aboard a ferry at Portsmouth. * ... on his journey to donate it to the Ver sur Mer museum in Normandy. The tank will be placed overlooking Gold Beach - the location of a major surge of the British D-day invasion which Mr Kiln's father Robert, who died in 1997 at the age of 77, took part in. Now to commemorate the bravery of his father, who served in the Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire Yeomanry, and all those who took part in the landings, Mr Kiln has spent 12, 000 on the machine.
