Slingfield Mill built 1864 by Thomas Lea. Lockwood and Mawson Bradford, The mill produced finest yarns for carpet industry which were spun machinery driven by a steam engine powered from boilers in the boiler house with it's tall square factory chimney. The mill now houses a Debenhams Store and a Premier Lodge. The boiler House is a Frankie and Benny's. The chimney has been retained.
