Southend on Sea, Essex, England. Royal Terrace built in 1791-93 commemorates visit by Princess Caroline wife of the Prince Regent who stayed at No. 7 9 in 1803. A favourite place for people from east London to go for a day trip where the Thames estuary joins the North Sea. Southend Pier at one a quarter miles in length is the longest in the world.
