Sumatran tigers are a distinct subspecies of tiger found only on the Indonesian island of Sumatra. They are critically endangered, only about 500 left in the wild. They have webbing between their toes, which makes them very fast swimmers. Habitat loss and poaching continue to devastate remaining populations of this unique tiger, with no solution in sight.
