Swimmers run into in the sea at the Barry Island New Year Day Swim at Whitmore Bay, in the Vale of Glamorgan, South Wales, during the 34th annual New Year day swim, which originally started when five members of the Jacksons Bay Lifeguard Club decided to shake off their hangovers with a bracing dip, by completely submerging themselves three times.
