TAMPON MONA LISA Artist Dave Morice has recreated Leonardo Da Vinci's most famous work of art, The Mona Lisa - made entirely from tampons. After creating the artwork and posting images online, Morice was bombarded with interest, so he has listed it on auction site eBay, where enthusiasts can snap up the original for $2, 600 (GBP1, 850). The reaction to the tampon portrait hasn't been all positive, particularly in his native St Louis, Missouri. Morice explains, "I was in St Louis, and I went to the St Louis County Library to use a computer so I could see how the auction was doing. I made print-outs of the auction listing to show to a friend. After making the print-outs, I was still sitting at the computer when a librarian came up behind me. 'Sir, ' she said, 'I'd like to talk to you.' I saw that she had my print-outs, and I said, "Thanks for the print-outs! That was quick.' She replied, 'You can't view that website. What you are looking at is obscene material, and it's against the library rules to view such things on the computer.' To my great surprise, Tampon Mona Lisa was banned in this major library in St Louis!"
