Originally the Troop C Armory, then the 42nd Supply and Transport Battalion New York National Guard Armory and now the Bedford-Union Armory in the Crown Heights neighborhood of Brooklyn on Monday, January 9, 2012.The massive 1908 building, designed by Pilcher, Thomas and Tachau is no longer used by the National Guard and plans are being developed by the community to determine its future use. The building has housed film shoots, Orthodox Jewish dinners and a homeless shelter in the past. Neighborhood activists are pushing for the building to be turned into a community center.
