The original construction of the town church dates back to the 13th century and was also made of bricks. At the end of the war in 1945 the church was severely damaged by artillery fire and incendiary grenades and burned out. The tower was restored in 2011, as was the vault in the Chapel of Our Lady and, one year earlier, the vault in the central nave. The restoration is not yet complete.
