This image is exclusive to Alamy. The Church of Saint Mary the Virgin, or more commonly, St Mary's Church, Lace Market, Nottingham, England, UK. The present St Mary's Church dates from the end of the reign of Edward III (1377) to that of Henry VII (1485-1509) though there has been a church on the site since Saxon times. It is the largest medieval building in the city. The church is mentioned in the Domesday Book and the current building is at least the third to have been built there.
