The heavily damaged Flatbush District No. 1 School at the intersection of Church and Bedford Avenues in Flatbush in Brooklyn in New York on Monday, July 7, 2014. Constructed in 1878 and designed by John Culyer the building became PS. 90 upon the annexation of Brooklyn and was closed in 1951. Later used by a succession of Yeshivas. It was designated a landmark in 2007 and is currently vacant and in disrepair and owned by the City of New York.. (© Richard B. Levine)
