The WW II submarine Vesikko was one of the five submarines that served with the Finnish navy during the Second World War and the design was a direct prototype of the German Navy's Type-II U-boat. The ship was decommisioned after the war and lay derelict for many years before a group of former sailors restored it as a museum on the fordtress island of Suomenlinna, just outside Helsinki's harbour.
