TNT Express opened its new head office in Hoofddorp, the Netherlands, in September 2011. Designed by architects Paul de Ruiter and Odette Ex, the “TNT Centre” is the first office building in the Netherlands to comply with future EU regulations (2020) on energy-neutral buildings. It actually produces more power than it consumes. The six-storey building was developed between 2007 and 2011 by a consortium of Triodos Bank, OVG Real Estate and TNT, using sustainable lighting, ventilation and construction techniques.
