Triceratops fossil in the Royal tyrrell museum in Drumheller Alberta Canada. it was a large plant eating dinosaur which existed during the Cretaceous period about 72 to 65 million years ago. It was among the last of the dinosaurs to die out on earth. The horns were mainly defensive as was the huge bony neck shield. It stood between 15 and 20 feet tall and was about 25 feet in length and weighed in at 5 to 7 tons.
