Barmouth (Welsh: Abermaw (formal); Y Bermo (colloquial)) is a town in the county of Gwynedd, north-western Wales, lying on the estuary of the River Mawddach and Cardigan Bay. Barmouth Roundhouse, Welsh:Ty Crwn, is found close to the seaside in the town of Barmouth West Wales. A stone building under a slate roof, the roundhouse was erected in 1834 as a jail for petty offenders and drunkards. It has two sections one for male and one for female.
