U.S. Air Force Airman 1st Class Joshua Neal, 22nd Operations Support Squadron air traffic controller, uses the computer to amend a flight plan July 7, 2011, McConnell Air Force Base, Kan. McConnell's air traffic controllers organize the flow of air traffic on the ground as well as communicate with other ATC's to manage 50,000 square miles of air space. Day and night, they track aircraft by radar and relay flight and landing instructions, weather reports and safety information to aircrews via radio. ( Staff Sgt. Michael Schocker)
