Melson, along with Sister Marie Angela, the founder of the Sacred Heart Museum and Orphanage in Da Nang, distribute clothes donated by the people of Melson's hometown, Lake, West Virginia. Melson visited the orphanage and wrote to his wife about it. The clothes were sent by the people of Lake to be given to the children of Sacred Heart.
