Jura, UK. 28th May, 2016. The Jura Fell Race is one of the toughest British Hill Race challenges with a 28km course taking in 7 mountain summits and a total rise of 2370m. Taking place on the Scottish island of Jura and sponsored by the Isle of Jura Distillery, over 250 runners took part in the event with the winner Finlay Wild completing the course in 3 hours 9 minutes and 53 seconds. The Women’s race was won by Jasmin Paris in 3 hours 40 minutes and 59 seconds. Spanish Salomon running team mates Iker KARRERA ARANBURU (R) and Tofol CASTANER BERNAT (L) run into Chamonix town centre to take a joint 2nd place in the UTMB. The race takes the runners through 3 alpine countries (France, Switzerland and Italy), over many high mountain passes for a total of 163km of running and 9600m of height gain total while circumnavigating the Mont Blanc massif. The race is conducted in semi-autonomy with only a few stops for food and water. It is run for 2 nights and 2 days. The first runners reached Chamonix in under 21 hours.
