1956, historical view from this era of the Forth Bridge, the world's first major steel structure. A cantilever railway bridge across the Firth of Forth in East of Scotland, near Edinburgh, its opening in 1890 was a major milstone in modern railway civil engineering and still today holds the record as the world's longest cantilever bridge.
