Passengers are evacuated from a train after the middle carriage of the train caught fire at the old Armley railway station on Canal Road just outside Leeds. * Nobody was injured and around 50 passengers were evacuated after emergency services were called to the scene at around 12.10pm. The route will improve the reliability of journey times on the A354 between Weymouth and Dorchester and support public transport. During her son's reign, the young King Richard II faced the challenge of the Peasants' Revolt. Joan enjoyed a certain prestige and dignity among the people as an elderly, royal dowager. On her return from a pilgrimage to Thomas Becket's shrine at Canterbury Cathedral in 1381, she found her way barred by Wat Tyler's rebels on Blackheath; however, she was not only let through unharmed, but saluted with kisses and provided with an escort for the rest of her journey.
