The Boar's Head Feast originated at Queen's College, Oxford, England in 1340. Legend has it that a scholar was studying a book of Aristotle while walking through the forest on his way to Christmas Mass. Suddenly confronted by an angry wild boar. and aving no other weapon, the resourceful Oxonian rammed his metal-bound book down the throat of the charging animal, choking the brute to death. That night the boar's head, dressed and garnished, was borne in procession to the dining room. Like the Yule log festival it became a medieval English Christmas tradition Stock Photohttps://www.alamy.com/image-license-details/?v=1https://www.alamy.com/the-boars-head-feast-originated-at-queens-college-oxford-england-in-1340-legend-has-it-that-a-scholar-was-studying-a-book-of-aristotle-while-walking-through-the-forest-on-his-way-to-christmas-mass-suddenly-confronted-by-an-angry-wild-boar-and-aving-no-other-weapon-the-resourceful-oxonian-rammed-his-metal-bound-book-down-the-throat-of-the-charging-animal-choking-the-brute-to-death-that-night-the-boars-head-dressed-and-garnished-was-borne-in-procession-to-the-dining-room-like-the-yule-log-festival-it-became-a-medieval-english-christmas-tradition-image223797963.html
