Later he would participate in the November, 1923, Beer Hall Putsch in Munich, and thereafter was the Master of Ceremonies at the annual November 9th gathering. He would be appointed Gauleiter of Munich/Upper Bavaria, Minister of Justice, and Minister of Education and Culture. He died of a stroke April 12, 1944, and the Fuhrer Adolf Hitler attended the funeral.
