The Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead have designated a number of areas in Eton where grass verges are to be left unmown, however, somebody has put purple tape over the words 'Do Not Mow' on some of the signs meaning contractors Tivoli have recently cut back verges that were meant to be left to grow. Usually the verges are full of cornflowers and other wild flowers providing an important habitat for bees, pollinators, insects and mammals.
