AIR COMMODORE WANN OF THE R.A.F. (Picture issued 1945) AIRSHIP VETERAN AND SURVIVOR OF R.38 - Air Commodore Wann, now doing staff duties for the R.A.F. is a veteran of the air. He was a member of the Royal Naval Air Service and an airship pilot, one of the five survivors of the batal R.38 which broke amidships during trials over the Humber on 24th August 1921.
