Body long and narrow with half oval section, made of jatropha curcas wood, the ^^kiri of Japan. Six strings, tightened by buttons; fourteenfrets. On the bottom is engraved a verse by a Chinese scholar; ornamen-tation of bats and fretwork characters appear on other portions.
