May 05, 1981 - Hunger striker No.2 Francis Hughes Dies : Francis Hughes, 25, became the second hunger sterile in a week to die in the Maze Prison in Belfast. The first being Bobby Sands. Hughes was on his 59 day of his fast at the time of his death, He was one of the Ira's top killers, through men remain on hunger strike. Two of 26 deaths. Three other men remain on hunger strike. Two of them Patsy O'Hara and Ray, and McCreesh are deteriorating rapidly after 53 days, and are expected to died any time.
