Three Queens.Queen Elizabeth Queen Mary & Queen Mother watch the body of the King being placed in Westminster Abbey. The acsension of Elizabeth came on her father's (George VI) sad death on February 6th 1953. She was in Kenya at the time so the proclamation was not official until the 8th. The three queens were rarely pictured together. Unfortunately Queen Mary died on the 24th March 1953. George VI was the third son she had seen die.
