Clear Off - Submarines About: Captain Loxley of the Royal Navy, his terrier Bruce by his side, pictured giving his last order to another ship, warning of the danger of torpedoes. Captain Loxley was in command of the HMS Formidable which was struck by a torpedo in the English Channel in the early hours of New Year's morning, 1915. The Captain remained on the bridge as the ship sank, eventually giving the order that the crew evacuate.
