Satue of a Boy. Second half of the 2nd century AD. Fine grain marble. The statue depicts a boy bending a bow. This piece is typical of the Hellenistic figurative tradition, which, starting from the early 3rd century BC, saw the increased popularity of a decorative style in which the subjects are mostly children, a symbol of the joy of living and the renewal of life.
