The attack, which took place on June 10, 1970, in the village of Phenh Ban end Thanh ly, resulted in the destruction of more than half of the village. Over 150 civilian villagers, including women, children, and elderly residents, lost their lives in the raid. The villagers, loyal to the Saigon Government, had refused to support local Viet Cong activities.
