(July 8, 2005) – Naval Air Station (NAS) Key West control tower and airfield personnel depart on a U.S. Navy C-40A Clipper, assigned to the “Sunseekers” of Fleet Logistics Support Squadron Five Eight (VR-58), during an evacuation of the air station. The C-40A aircraft was the last aircraft to depart NAS Key West prior to Hurricane Dennis' arrival. Dennis, a Category 4 hurricane, is expected to pass closer than 90 miles to Key West early Saturday morning.
