Dec. 12, 1961 - The Earth opened its ground... (on Dec 23rd) when 28,500 liters of petrol exploded under the streets of Kornwestheim near Stuttgart/Germany. The petrol had run out of a damaged railway tank-car and driped into the underground sewage system. A underground fire wave run through the little town when the petrol cought fire. The street nearest the railway stations was broken up in a distance of 50 meters as our picture shows. Tow labourers we in the sewage system when the firestorm broke out. One of them was killed the other havy wounded.
