One of the old ladies of the family photographed. Ladakh, India. THESE stunning portraits show the diverse people of Northern India in all their glamour. The stunning portraits show three generations of families belonging to the Brokpa Tribe, with a population of a mere 1, 800 people who have lived in this part of India for generations. The people of the tribe speak an Indo-Aryan language called Brokskat. The tribespeople?s diet is primarily based on locally grown foods such as barley and a special brewed tea made of black tea, butter and salt. When Dutch photographer Ingrid Koedood (51) visited Leh, India, she was invited into in the homes of the local people. She clicked these pictures in Ladakh, India using a Canon EOS 5 DSR and a 24-70mm lens.?These people were so friendly, ? said Ingrid. ?I shot with the whole family including grandparents, parents and children. ?The shoot itself was not easy. We had to improvise everything. One time my driver and my guide had to hold a dark blanket to adjust the light. ?Discovering new people and cultures is so enriching and rewarding. ?It captures the beauty of human beings.? mediadrumimages/IngridKoedood
