The Barrier Canyon Style pictographs in Black Dragon Canyon on the edge of the San Rafael Swell in Utah were painted by the Archaic Culture Native Americans between 1, 500 and 4, 000 years ago. The pictographs were outlined with chalk in the 1940's, irreparably damaging them.
