The Cherub Inn in the Devon town of Dartmouth. The building dates from 1380. It retains many of its original features, including old ship's timbers used in its construction. It was thought to have been a merchant's house originally and is the oldest building in Dartmouth and possibly the oldest "town house" in the South Hams. It has Grade 2* statues, a catagory reserved for the most interesting of small buildings. The building has had an interesting life, remaining virtually untouched until: - a fire in 1864, bombed in WW2, left virtually derelict, restored, survived another fire in May 2010, became a Private Members Club in the 1960s and finally became a pub and restaurant in the 1070s!
