Public transport usage and particularly train usage in the Sydney network is climbing rapidly with growth of between 10 and 20 percent between 2016 and 2017 alone. The state government expects this growth to continue in line with Sydney and Australia's fast growing population and the climbing cost of alternative transport methods such as cars. This carpark allows people to drive a relatively short distance and then catch a train. It also provides a top deck platform for a bus interchange that further enhances the transport network.
