The crew of the British Cpl at Shell Haven. Which was recently bombed in the Mediterranean is now berthed at Shell Haven, Essex. The British corporal was near Algeria when several money planes appeared over the vessel in the early hours of the morning and bombed and machine-gunned the ship for an hour, dropping about 40 high explosive bombs. The ship miraculously escaped being hit. 18 August 1937.
