The house in Stillwell Drive, Sandal, near Wakefield in West Yorkshire, which was purchased December 2000 by Alan and Susan Sykes who were unaware that the property was where Dr Samson Perera, a dental biologist at Leeds University, had butchered his 13-year-old adopted daughter in 1984 and hidden her body parts. Mr and Mrs Sykes are seeking damages at the High Court in London from the vendors of the property who they say should have told them of its gruesome past.
