King's Caves, Isle of Arran, UKMore information:
Historic King's Cave is one of several locations in which Robert the Bruce is said to have had his famed encounter with a spider. From Blackwaterfoot you can walk along the beach and through the clever boulder-field path, part of Arran Coastal Way. Despite the legends, it's unlikely that Robert the Bruce sheltered in the King's Cave before the Battle of Bannockburn – or saw the famous spider. But King's Cave is still worth a visit for its superb location on a raised shingle beach.
