The "Klitgaarden" in Skagen, also known as the "Kongevillaen", was built as the summer residence of King Christian X of Denmark in 1914. Used by King Christian X (1947) and Queen Alexandrine (1952), then transferred to Prince Knud and Princess Caroline-Mathilde. The "Klitgaarden" was sold in 1995 and converted as a refuge for scientists and artists. The "Klitgaarden" is designed by the architect Ulrik Plesner, who also designed many houses in Skagen."Klitgaarden" is located on a 48, 000 m2 area with a front towards the Kattegat. "Klitgaarden" i Skagen, som også kaldes "Kongevillaen", er opført som sommerresidens til Kong Christian X af Danmark i 1914. Blev benyttes af Kong Christian X (1947) og Dronning Alexandrine (1952) og overgik derefter til Arveprins Knud og Arveprinsesse Caroline-Mathilde. "Klitgaarden" blev solgt 1995 og indrettet som refugium for videnskabsmænd og kunstnere. Arkitekten er Ulrik Plesner som også her tegnet mange huse i Skagen. "Klitgaarden" ligger på 48.000 m2 areal med front mod Kattegat.
