The otter sculpture made by Professor Xie Yong of Shenyang University out of 300, 000 sewing needles is on display at his studio in Shenyang city, northeast China's Liaoning province, 9 May 2017. Professor Xie Yong of Shenyang University has created a vivid sculpture of otter out of 300, 000 sewing needles in Shenyang city, northeast China's Liaoning province. The fur of the animal is replaced by needles and the 2-meter-high, 2.85-meter-long needle otter was made to advocate the ban of fur sales. In the past one year, Xie and his students used about 500, 000 sewing needles to make more than ten artworks such as Rabbit, Fox and Mink.
