The Port of Alexandria is located on the northern, Mediterranean coast of Egypt, to the West of the Nile Delta. It is one of the oldest ports in the world, with its earliest facilities built as long ago as 1900 BCE. The modern port is now the largest in Egypt, and one of the largest in the Middle East. Here we see its port and harbour area, viewed from our cruise ship moored at its international terminal. It has rained overnight - unusual in itself - but sunrise is clear and fine.
