This marker stone with the Red Rose symbol on, represents the border of Lancashire and is located near to Penine Way Bridge on the Westbound carriageway of the M62 motorway. It was unveiled by Her Majesty The Queen during her visit on 4th October 1971. During her platinum jubilee celebrations in 2022, both the Yorkshire & Lancashire border marker stones were given protected status.
