The 'Royal Scot' steam locomotive hauls 'The Fellsman' train northward on the famous Settle-Carlisle railway line at Salt Lake Cottages near Ribblehead in The Yorkshire Dales National Park. The Fellsman is one of the Summer steam specials over the line. The service is run by Saphos Trains and the journey starts at Crewe, running up the Settle- Carlilse line to Carlisle and then returning to Crewe via the same route. Royal Scot was originally built at Derby by the LMS in 1930 and, like other locos of its class, later received a completely redesigned boiler and smoke deflectors, which altered its appearance considerably. It was withdrawn from BR service in 1965.
