The seventh generation successor of Luzhou's oil paper umbrella Yu Wanlun made an oil paper umbrella at his studio in Hangzhou city, east China's Zhejiang province, 1 June 2017. The history of Luzhou's oil paper umbrella production can be traced back more than 400 years to the late Ming Dynasty(1368-1644). Its craftwork is now a state-level non-material cultural heritage and has over 70 steps, including bamboo-splitting, drilling, threading, paper cutting, gluing, sundrying. Yu Wanlun and his wife hope to bring oil paper umbrellas back to people's daily lives.
