The start of a runway 2300 feet from the tree line. Lights and flags were temporarily placed on the runway for arriving aircraft to use as guides while landing on Tinian. The US Marine Corps conducted a sight survey aboard the island of Tinian to discuss the possibility of making the airfield more active in the future.
