They live in tree hollows. Massachusetts, US: THESE ADORABLE pictures show two little owls cuddled up together inside a tree. One image shows the two Eastern screech owls smiling at the camera, forming a heart in their cosy home. The fluffy duo can be seen cuddling together to create warmth, while enjoying their fluffy feathers. These images were captured by photographer Amr Alaarg (37) in Arlington, Massachusetts, using a Nikon D850 camera. ?Screech owls tend to be snuggly, ? said Amr. ?These two were extra loving to each other. ?They did not mind putting a show of cleaning each other, playing with each other, and teaming up to protect their nest and babies.? The screech owl grows around 10 inches tall, with a wingspan of between 18 to 24 inches wide. They generally build nests inside tree hollows, allowing for an enclosed habitat as well as constant food from the insects and small mammals that all take shelter in tree hollows. ?I arrived at their nest around twenty minutes to sunrise after driving for thirty minutes, ? said Amr. ?They usually return to their nest around this time, and there is relatively decent light to take a couple of shots. ?It?s fantastic to be close to owls. Because they are nocturnal birds, hushed when they fly and blend well with trees, it is not easy to find them. ?It felt great to see both of the owls and witness their behaviour with each other.? mediadrumimages/@amr_nature
