Marble statues placed on the sepulchre by Italian Renaissance artist Giorgio Vasari in 1554 are pictured from left to right: Saint Cosmas by Giovanni Angelo Montorsoli, Madonna and Child by Michelangelo Buonarroti (1521) and Saint Damian by Raffaello da Montelupo.
