Sightseeing escalators opened to tourists on Saturday (28 December 2013) at Mount Tianmen or Tianmenshan Mountain scenic spot in central Chinese province of Hunan. The escalators, 692 meters long, are used to replace a climb of 999 steps at the spot and are expected to serve 72, 000 people every day.
